3M's Whiteboard Eraser Pad does what it says it will, and does it very well. I'm impressed. The pads require very little effort to clean a whiteboard while leaving a very little dry erase dust behind and will even clean old stubborn dry erase marks that the dry erase spray won't. These will even clean dry erase marks off of laminated paper.
When using these pads to clean permanent markers, it does require a bit of elbow grease to completely remove these marks. Wetting these pads are the downside to using these pads to remove permanent marks because the water warps the pad into a flatten area where it is used to rub the permanent marks off. So with that in mind, I would recommend only damping a corner when using these pads to remove permanent marks. Just remember, the pad doesn't need to be soak, just dampened with about 2-3 drops of water.
The best thing about these pads is they are odorless. I absolute dislike the pungent smell of dry erase spray cleaner, whose smell lingers well after it has been used.
I was able to completely remove the following Expo dry erase marker colors (usually some colors are harder to remove than others):
Blue, Green, Red, Orange, Black, Yellow, Brown and Purple
With the dry eraser slightly damp in one corner, I was able to completely remove the following permanent marker colors:
Avery Black Marks-A-Lot
Sharpie Red
These pads remind me of the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, and cleaning with them are similar in practice. The only difference is these don't loose their shape when used dry, like the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers do.
I think the 3M Whiteboard Eraser are worth purchasing and will continue to use them. I'm even going to recommend them at work instead of using the Expo Cleaning Spray and Pads.

I don't keep permanent markers in the house...just washable and dry erase...but my son likes to leave his artwork on the whiteboard for days at a time, so some colors leave faint traces if left too long. This product works well with minimum effort ; the board looks as good as new.
