I bought these for my dorm room, wanting these to be hung on walls. These boards are very well constructed, they're made of metal plates with magnetic backs. They have dotted lines you can't see in the picture running across the board, so they're excellent for leaving notes. Don't get confused like me, these boards are magnets, not just magnetic. They were an excellent buy!

Before buying this magnetic board, we bought the Quartet white magnetic board from a local store. The board had a magnetic square at each of the four corners. However, when we tried to stick the board to our fridge, it always slid along the fridge door. Simply put, the magnetic was not good enough. I have got a dozen of other magnetics that stuck tightly to the fridge. So we had to return the white magnetic board at last.
Then we got the quick list magnet boards from Amazon, hoping it would work better. The front surface is smooth and really good-looking. But it turned out to be another large disappointment. Even the back of the boards are all covered by magnets, it still keeps sliding down along the door. We did not even bother testing how the pen works.
After two consecutive fails, we feel like staying away from Quartet. This brand seems to have serious problem with the quality of magnets.
P.S.: When we chose to return the product, Amazon said we could keep these board (maybe they don't wanna pay the return shipping for these $6 boards). I meant to merit an extra star for it, but my GF said I must not be "bribed" and should be honest to other potential buyers. lol
